About Manchester Balcony Solar
We're a small British business selling plug-in solar kits online. This site is for people in flats and apartments.
Who we are
We sell plug-in solar kits online, delivered across England, Scotland and Wales. We don't install anything. Plug-in kits are made for the person who lives there to set up, so we put our effort into clear guides and straight answers.
Our guides use Manchester and Salford examples because the city has so many apartment blocks, from mill conversions to waterside towers. The rules we explain apply right across Great Britain.
Why flats
Most solar advice is written for houses with roofs. If you live in a flat, the first question isn't which panel. It's whether you're allowed.
So this site starts there: the check, the exclusions and the letters. The kit comes last.
Balcony kits are coming soon. We're choosing a maker whose kits are made for balconies and listed as Compliant on the ENA Type Test Register. Until then, the guides and tools are free to use.
Start with the three-question check.
